compiz and intel i915 video card
« on: December 13, 2012, 12:24:37 PM »
not working
if compiz is enabled then display is wrong painted (or not at all) I have experienced problems with this mainboard http://www.findlaptopdriver.com/specs-foxconn-2abf-motherboard-7252011h48/ on a clean pclos 2012.12 kde mini
to get a decent image on display ,the driver must be manually set to "i810 or later" in pcc and add  Option "shadow" "true" in xorg.conf

there are voices who says something about mesa (it seems to work with latest mesa v8)
http://www.mail-archive.com/compiz@lists.launchpad.net/msg41065.html
 any ideea ?

thx!

ups.. something have to be rebuilded in pclos repos
just rebuilded mesa 7.11 and i saw that the new packages have a different size
example: new libdri-drivers-7.11-2pclos2012.i586 = 14,9MB or 84,8MB uncompressed
                 old libdri-drivers-7.11-2pclos2012.i586 = 12.8MB or 47,7MM uncompressed
anyway, like i said, just rebuilded from http://ftp.nluug.nl/ibiblio/distributions/pclinuxos/pclinuxos/apt/pclinuxos/2010/SRPMS.main/mesa-7.11-2pclos2011.src.rpm and installed again the new mesa 7.11 and now everything is OK
glxgears gives 60FPS and compiz works like a charm
