The Sweet Science
« on: December 12, 2012, 01:30:41 AM »
A boxing ring is square in shape. Two of the opposite corner posts are colored blue and red, whereas the other two white. For easy identification by the referee, one of the fighters is assigned the red corner and the other the blue corner, while the referee occupies one of the white ones, called the neutral corner. In amateur boxing , the corner of a fighter is linked to his rank. In Japan, there was the tradition of assigning the red corner to the visiting fighter and blue to the home fighter. It is still this way.

On December the 8th, Manny (Pac Man) Pacquiao faced, for the 4th time, his "good friend" and (arch enemy in the ring), Juan Manuel Marquez.

On the three previous occasions that they have fought, the outcome was very controversial.

Most, in the boxing world, would hope for definite results over this rivalry.

It should show up on HBO any day now.

Please if anyone knows the outcome of this epic bout. Keep it to yourself until I have a chance to watch it.

If ANYONE follows boxing give this a look. ;)

Completely understand you on this Rudge.

It's not often that two great fighters such as these come together in the ring.

it's like sugar ray and the hitman, eubank & ben, ali & frasier.

every time they met, you never knew which way it would go, but you knew it would be a great contest.

I have not seen it, and haven't heard the result either, but i am now looking for it  ;)

Neither will I tell.   All I let on to is that it was a great slugfest.  Enjoy watching.

Someone at least tell me if it "went the distance,, again?" I can live with that much info.. LOL

EDIT: ---  OMG!!!  I couldn't wait for HBO. I found the full fight on YT.

That's too bad.

I guess I got lucky and saw it before HBO found out that it had been posted.

I found it on a different site. Youtube doesn't yet have a monopoly. Boy did he walk onto that one?

It's the first time there were no judges involved. I was very glad to see that. ;)
