N PCC Hardware "Browse and configure hardware" the UPS is detected and its connections are all noted.  However, in PCC Others "Setup a UPC for power
monitoring," "Autodetection"  it says "No new UPS devices was [sic] found;" in "Manual Configuration" it wants a driver and a port.  In a previous post to this forum,
someone mentioned a program called pwrstat, but I can't find any such program in synaptic, and the UPS did not come with any software.  The UPS spec states that it
is compatible with Linux, but the software available for it on the net is all for Windows.
Where do I go from here?

Replying to my own post.  Further Googling reveals a Linux s/w for this unit. (Originally only found Windows s/w.)
Look for http://www.cyberpowersystems.com/products/management-software/pppe.html   It comes in rpm, deb, and binary
form, so I instlled the rpm.  It seems to work.
Don't know why the manual doesn't mention this.  SOLVED.
