Noob needs help with wireless

Ladies and Gentlemen I have got myself in a real fix, a friend loaded Pclinuxos 10  onto my HP mini for me and the wireless ran well for nine months then one day just stopped working.
My desktop using an old prism 2 card links well through to the wireless router so I decided to update the Notebook believing that would repair the problem, loaded it with Pclinuxos 11.6 and damn it still no link.
Reading the posts here I believe I have a Broadcom chip which seems to give some problems.
So what is my easiest  repair, a USb wireless ? or what ?

There being no PCLinuxOS 10, or PCLinuxOS 11.6, what is it that you have actually installed?

I assume that tehori might be referring to an old PCLinuxOS 2010 edition and then to a 2011.06 release?

Could be, but either would be non upgradeable now, so a waste of time to pursue. The 2012.12 images are now available, through torrents, as well as the 2012.09 FullMonty. If tehori wants an up to date FM installation, that would be the one to use.
