Update verification problem. bzip2 error

This morning update-notifier produced a message "An error occurred verifying upgrade; please use synaptic or try again later"
I used synaptic and got the message "http://ftp.nluug.nl/ibiblio/distributions/pclinuxos/pclinuxos/apt/pclinuxos/2010/base/pkglist.main: Sub-process bzip2 returned an error code (2)"

Tried a different repo but got the same message.

The updates shown on synaptic all appear to have been successful so its no big pain but there does appear to be some kind of problem unpacking (or possibly update-notifier has gone 'out to lunch'). This is not machine dependent as I have 5 machines running PCLinuxOS and all are affected.

Any ideas?

nluug.nl may of been in the process of "syncing / updating" from the main ibiblio server thus the error message.

I just checked nluug.nl and no error messages now appear  (but the heanet.ie repo shows the same pkglist message)

I had the same error today from Heanet.

The original at Ibiblio is OK, so I guess it will propagate to the mirrors as soon as they update again.

Just checked again and all appears fine now.
