Tinypics Image turns out too big (SOLVED)
« on: December 06, 2012, 02:27:12 PM »
I just posted a screenshot in "December Screenshots" which turned out bigger than what anybody else ist posting. Can someone tell me how to judge either by their website or by the image size how to do that properly?

Thanks.

i never used tinypic, does it offer a way to reduce the size of the file or thumbnails of the image?

if not, then it just works as any other image hosting service, it posts what you upload and that is ok unless your setup is 4 screens at 2560x1600 each one ;D

Reduce the pic before uploading it.

You can check what size the other pics are and reduce yours to a similar size.

EDIT
I had a look at tinypic .......  and it allows the image to be sized on upload ........  "choose file" - Image -  Default or size from drop-down menu.

This was my first try!

Something else you can do when you post the image ...

Normally, the image tag looks something like this (remove the first space):

[ image]someimage.jpg[ /image]

Change the first image tag to read like this: [ image width=800] (again, remove the first space, but keep the second one!).

Now, when it is displayed in the forum, the image will automagically be resized to be only 800 pixels wide.

HTH!

I use our own picture hosting service   http:/myphotos.mypclinuxos.com
You can change the size of the image with just a click and telling it the width and height or you can just tell it one and leave the other blank and it will automatically scale it in the correct ratio.  It even give you the proper code to use on the forum or for your html, if you code.
