Can I change my username?

I understand I can change my name on here, but can I change my username? I think I had what I wanted in the past, but for some reason I deleted that account.
Nothing personal, I think I was using another distro, but have found myself back here. I thought maybe I could recover the username, going to "forgot password" but it says no such user. So I'm guessing it's available.

Click on your current user name Vanguard-741  and then choose Account Related Settings

Go to :

Name:
This is the displayed name that people will see.

and enter the changed name

Go to bottom of page and select Change Profile

True, I'd have to change the name, but was thinking of a different username, if possible. And to have the name as Vanguard. I'll do the name now.

update: It won't let me. says it's taken. yeah, by me. And yet, trying to get "send password" to username says "no such user."

Oh well. It's no biggie.

Yup just checked there is a user named Vanguard

I thought that account got deleted out.
