EPSON L210 "tank" printer
« on: November 30, 2012, 03:04:45 PM »
One of my friends is a real Epson fan. Through the years he wouldn´t buy any printer but Epson.
Good support for Linux he said.... he has been right all the time.
So now he was bitten by this L210 type.  It seems not supported by Linux, and Epson ... cannot even spell "Linux" on their website  ;D  Only Winstuff and Mac brabbel.
Anyone here that know of drivers available somewhere for this printer? Maybe it runs on a alternative driver? I have ever seen the last in case of a Xerox printer running on a Samsung driver.  ???

Did you try here http://www.openprinting.org/printers and see if they list a driver for it.

Yes, I did.

The only "L" type printer supported there is L1000. I tried that driver anyway but no go.

Sorry, it was just a thought.  Sorry to hear they did not have a specific driver for your system.

Ok - turns out prtr driver de-installed and re-installed ok. But it was not seen by CUPS. I found a program called printconf that was missing. Installed it and everything was fine. Printconf automatically configures USB printers to CUPS. Ron

doing a "epson L210 linux printer driver" search and maybe it's the solution ???

Wow mate, this lead me straight to the drivers available from Epson, something I couldn´t find on many of there site´s. Downloading now and then see what happens, thanks!
That program called Printconf I don´t see in our repo´s, hope I don´t need it.
