yes, they are creating the opportunity they need with this
tablets seems that won't disappear soon, so this is what they need to do to survive
i personally can't accept the tablets, no keyboard, even with windows or android in it, is a no no
the keyboard most tablets offer are a joke this segment of the market needs to grow alot
Literally

Crow, I respect you as an individual...
But my tablet is better at social media, texting, emails, playing games, watching movies & auto-correction, than my smartphone.
Well, probably my opinion is because I just use my phone to talk, some texting and a few reminders. I'm always near a computer: laptop at work and seminars, desktop at home, if I'm anywhere else is the other part of life so I won't connect

movies? I put them in a USB pendrive and watch them in a big screen, frequently munching something

and with the kids around

.
Tablets are not an option for me, I don't think I can have any work done on them. As an example, last thing I did was an article for a symposium, at times I had open: the article, Dolphin, XMind, two PDF's and a .doc file at the same time because I went back and forth on all of them.
But I'm sure others have different needs, my wife told me last month she needs a tablet for her work and we are waiting for the Christmas offers. She coordinates a program at the State University and needs something light and handy, probably with a stylus and handwriting recognition to take notes while she talk with other teachers, often at the corridors and synchronize with her computer later. I will probably fix her something with Dropbox, it's easier.
