Wahoo, I'm rich
« on: November 26, 2012, 07:58:37 PM »
If you remember several years ago, Bank of America was posting debits before deposits, in order to accrue overdrafts, and as many as possible. There was a class action lawsuit filed against them for this practice. Well they lost (June 3, 2011) and had to pay out $410,000,000.00 for their wrong doings.

Well I got my settlement from this lawsuit. Yes sir, I am now rich  :'(  a whopping $1.69    Oh well, the justice of it all.

It appears that the only folks that made any money were the lawyers!

Sorry. Never seen anyone but the lawyers make money on class actions. The problem is, without them, many claims are so small the corporate bad guys would get away with murder without them. Recent US Supreme Court dissent points that out.

At least you got some money. A lot of them get coupons or other worthless paper.

Damn, I was hoping everyone could have gotten the overdraft fees back and BoA get sentenced to being a non-fee state for a couple of decades.  After all, they screwed their customers and cried poverty to get a Bail-Out from Uncle George W.

+1 ... that would be the very least that should be done. We have BoA around here. I'll never do any business with them. My co-workers who do use them have nothing but horror stories. I always ask them why not change banks, but they never do. The following week, it's another round of horror stories.

Too bad they didn't require B of A to pay back the money from the bail out!  I wonder just how many of these companies will require another bailout within the next 5 or 10 years.  Seems we didn't learn from Chrysler and it 1st bailout.

Lee made sure that Chrysler paid their money back early and often,  too bad we don't have more like him running corporations.  Their would be no national debt and we would have less than 1% unemployment.  He was a proud American and most of the vultures of today could not care about the country as long as their bank accounts grow.
