Have you tried clearing your browsing history in firefox?

Please make sure that no Firefox process is running at the time of giving "firefox -p" at the Konsole.

I don't get that on the screenshot. It only loads the browser.

I'm not sure when I can check this. my internet provider is terrible, net has been down off and on since Sunday, the 18th.
I am using a hotspot, but for some reason I can't connect my laptop to it like I was able to before 

anyway, on the iMac, and I can select stuff on there too.

I may do a real clean installation of my laptop. I don't know why there is an issue. It works well on everything else. If all works out with the internet, maybe I'll have different results tomorrow.

I killed two birds with one stone. I did a clean install on pclinuxos. I can now select anything using firefox, and my laptop can detect my hotspot.

No updates yet, no internet. I'll see what happens later.

I was hoping to do what you suggested, and see if there's a solution.
However, with no internet, and it not connecting to the hotspot, it was nearly impossible to do it any other way.
