I've used all of the kernels with the existing lxde install on this machine with no glitches, including building many of my own up to 3.6.x, and I've not seen this before.

That was the first thing that I tried. :-\ Just to be sure everything is clear. I tested it as a livecd, not an install.

Problem here with lxde-mini 2012.12. No X Window on Tosh Satellite Pro S300 with Intel Mobile 4 video. Tried booting to console, logging in as root, XFdrake, back to guest. Still no go, no screens found. All with live CD. Also drew a blank at first with CPQ V6000 and nv go 6150. No X with any of the options including fbdev. It did run after using XFdrake in console. In fact iirc, oddly enough XFdrake had all the correct details ready to go. Not the case for the Intel video which was wrong every whichway, screen res, chipset etc. Any ideas on what is going on here? 2012.06 full lxde was my miracle distro in that it started a laptop which tends to boot with no backlight.

Oh dear. I am just not having very much fun here. Just downloaded lxde 2012.12 from mirror.aarnet.edu.au. Checksum says 4e0498819bed2e05ea8cb838108f2346 , mirror md5sum says 94e44ce50f90a60a2d5a743a6a7aa06d . Anybody know what is correct, or where the source for the known good downloads is???

Thanks for the info - this will probably take 36-48 hours to propagate through the mirrors? Would this affect both mini and full isos, or is the X Window problem with mini I've been having a separate issue perhaps?

Hi, just wondering whether the replacement iso image for lxde full 2012.12 is available yet? Is nluug the best place to look at this stage?

Still no luck in getting this laptop (Toshiba Satellite Pro S300) to start X Window with lxde-mini. Intel mobile 4 graphics. However that iso was not corrupted?

OK, there is an iso on nluug. But is it a usable image? I have already downloaded a 613 mb iso from mirror.aarnet.edu.au which proved to have the wrong checksum. Apparently there was something wrong with that iso. Before I try again it would be nice to have some assurance that this time it will be the real thing. There must be someone round here who knows?

HP DV4 laptop with backlight problems, miraculously booted and lit up screen on 2012.06. Not on 2012.12.

Tosh Sat Pro s300. No X window as with mini. The chipset is called Cantiga I believe. Unknown in pclinuxos world?

CPQ V6000 with dual Turion and nv video. Boots to X. 3g network endless loop fail. KDE mini gets a connection with same kit.

This release gets 3/10 for live CD use. Must try harder.

About downloads:
I found, sometimes, the download from Firefox (Win AND Lin) is not always acurate.
The AddOn DonThemAll is doing a much better job, also direct md5 check possible.

I have all going PCLinuxOS on two places, copy from the nluug repo on my external HDD,
Torrent seeding from my local seccond archive HDD.
All md5 checked and correct.
So try your downloads with DownThemAll from
http://ftp.nluug.nl/pub/os/Linux/distr/pclinuxos/pclinuxos/live-cd/
