ISO 8601.
I was taught January 2, 2003, and it would have written it as 01/02/03 or 01-02-03 but that is really gonna confuse a whole lot of other people. Having been in Manila for three months, I noted that it is still what's taught in the schools. Well, it's wrong. You and I know that but how do we get the population of a whole country to correct itself? We can't.
But smarter people won't rely on 10/11/12 or 10-11-12 ... what's that? Oct. 11, 2012 or Nov. 12, 2010? We spell it out when it may become confusing ... unless it is indicated on the blanks - MM, DD and YY. I suppose 2012-13-12 or 2013-15-01 would be acceptable if people are unaware of ISO 8601 but other than that don't make appointments with 13-13-12.
My 13 cents.
