Thanksgiving is maybe the most beautiful tradition in the USA, is a link to the past, to the history; it helps to keep families together at least for one day; and in a highly individualistic society it makes people recognize that there are things outside that are good for them.

I like it, we have those things but not in the same celebration.
I shall pass this way but once;
any good therefore that I can do,
or any kindness that I can show
let me not defer nor neglect it,
for I shall not pass this way again.

Here in Bulgaria almost nobody realises that the week could start at a different day than Monday. (See the link in the first post why it is in Bulgaria that way)

Me too didn't have a glue of it unless my daughter returned from Israel a year ago and told me: "Hey! There's Sunday the first day of the week! And we have problems (in work) with it. "

After that we talked about how Jews had ruled even our calendar... :D :-[ ;D :P
And I see that's not the Jews (only) :'( :D ;D

The next time I noticed the Sunday is when I posted this thread :)

Now I know more and my horizons got wider.
