Network Center no longer lists networks

For some reason, on all my PCLinuxOS KDE sytems, Network Center no longer lists any of the wireless signals. 

i used to be that I cold hit refresh and see an entire list of all the networks available.  Not any more. I have to manually add a wireless connection and enter in it's SSID. Even the connect button is missing.

It used to be so easy, now a pain.

Both.....     

I tried what they outlined, and my wireless works again, but if I try to view nearby wireless networks, I don't see any.... not even mine....   I think they are still working on it....

I will package any needed changes, as soon as the problem gets pinned down. I've had hit and miss with net_applet for a very long time. The newer wpa_supplicant seemed like an improvement for my machine. But clearly this is not true for everyone. It would probably help, if everyone who is having problems would list the kernel, wireless adapter, wifi driver, whether they use ndiswrapper, and whether they use wpa, wpa2, wep, etc. I don't know how to become more expert on these matters, with only one or two machines to test on.

Also, please indicate if you are using 32-bit, 64-bit, and if you have any packages from testing. (This is a reminder is mostly for me, as I am most often using a 64-bit testing environment and need to go to my stable 32-bit install before commenting. )

32bit KDE fully updated. Wireless adapter: Realtek ‎RTL8191SEvB. Kernel 3.2.18-pclos2.pae.bfs

Once connected to my network with Network Manager, all other networks disappear.
If I disconnect and refresh the list, they appear again and I can connect to my network and others too.
Once connected again, all others disappear. No problems with connection reliability.

EDIT: I'm using forced IP's on my two computers and OpenDNS.

EDIT2: Same thing on my kids' desktop using a TP-Link Wireless Adapter Model TL-WN722N. 32bit KDE fully updated, kernel 3.2.18-pclos2.bfs

Acer Aspire 5750. KDE 4.9.2, 32bit. Kernel 3.2.18-pclos2.bfs. Atheros ‎AR9287 Wireless Network Adapter. No testing packages installed.
Connects to the preconfigured home network. The network manager doesn't find any networks. Right clicking the net applet in the system tray -> wireless networks may or might not show up the available networks (but in this case, if you try to configure a network the default home network comes up instead, even if it's out of range).

If it helps, I believe I can see if racuna's suggestion works for me.

On my Lenovo G530 running fully updated 32 bit KDE, I have a Broadcom 4312 wireless adapter. Running 3.2.18-pclos2.bfs kernel. Testing repo is not enabled.

On my wife's Sony Vaio FS-500P running fully updated 32 bit Xfce, she has Intel Calaxia 2200 (sorry if I got the spelling wrong ... doing this one completely from memory). Running 3.2.18-pclos2.bfs kernel. Testing repo is not enabled.

Here's the really strange part that I don't think anyone has reported yet: if I right click on network manager and select "Manage Wireless Connections," nothing is listed in the network manager window. However, if I hit the "Disconnect" button at the bottom of the window, followed by "Refresh," I am able to see all the wireless networks within range. This happens on BOTH machines listed above.

Like others here, we (my wife and I) have experienced some awful wireless connectivity. The connection, after being so stable for so long, is now flaky. It connects and disconnects several times a day. The problem exists, regardless of which wireless router I connect to (I have 4 in the house, each with its own separate range of IP addresses).

I hope this helps in nailing down the issue!

You are not alone Paul I have the same behaviour in my laptop:

Once connected to my network with Network Manager, all other networks disappear.
If I disconnect and refresh the list, they appear again and I can connect to my network and others too.
Once connected again, all others disappear. No problems with connection reliability.

EDIT: I'm using forced IP's on my two computers and OpenDNS.

Good thing is that my connection is reliable and steady as it used to be... Maybe the forced IP's has something to do?

I'll check the home laptop this evening and report back with those specs.

Since this is worse then a Windows virus, I still wonder if we can go back to the old working situation while this is sorted out. Many will start encountering this flaw and it isn´t a joke if one´s usual connections can´t be found anymore.
This thing belongs back in testing imho. If there is a reason as to why we can´t go back then I missed that and say sorry.
