Have so far been unable to install Pclinuxos 2012.08 KDE satisfactorily on this laptop. Problems seem to be purely related to it not recognising the Intel HD 4000 chipset.
When I booted up for the first time after installing, it bizarrely would only show on half of my screen. I managed to get into PCC and configure it to use a resolution of 1366 x 768 and changed from VESA to INTEL but I had all sorts of strange graphical artifacts and miscolouring. Fully updating and using XFdrake gave me the same results.
For the moment, I've switched to Linux Mint 13 KDE which doesn't have these problems. I would prefer to use Pclinuxos, so if anyone has any bright ideas I'm willing to try again. Is it down to the kernel version being too old or the Intel driver? I read that the ivy bridge function is in the kernel now?
Cheers,
Blarney
