I never get simple problems. I always get one's that no one else has ever had. I can live with that but it does get frustrating.

Short Version:
                       New Minime Install.

Installed ,updated, added a couple applications. No problem.

Upon rebooting internet connectivity icon is missing in right hand panel.

                       No where to be found.

Did all the things I know about to try and get it back. NO GOOD !

                       Forum search came up empty.

Please tell me where it is.

                       Thank you.

There is a 5th dimension, beyond that which is known to man.It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity, between science& superstition,& it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call PCLINUXOS!

Well it is MiniMe so it is KDE.

Mine is the wifi icon with green bars. Which is still the net applet.

Well, I could not find that anywhere It should have been under more applications/ monitoring.
Not there.
Can I get that back through synaptic?

Yes, did all of that. I thought it was a widget so I have been treating it like that while searching.
As I said in my last post, is it in synaptic?

The Net applet comes with the package drakx-net. (On 64 bit the current version is 0.87-12pclos2012.)

Thanks BaldBrick.

Now I can't even get online with that computer. I just booted up this one to see if I could help the other one.
If I am able to get back online with the other one I will reinstall drakx-net and see what happens.

Well, I have learned another new thing today. That is good. Thank you very much.

Bald Brick you saved the day. I was finally able to make a connection and I went and reinstalled drakx-net from synaptic. Instant fix. The applet is back. I can see wireless networks and it connected quite fast.

Now that this is known, I hope others will be helped.

Now on to more productive endeavors.  ;)

I read this with interest today.  Here is why!  Today when I started my computer my icon also was gone.  I was online everything was fine but no icon in the panel, lower right side.  So sometimes when all else fails I restart the computer.  I did and the icon was back.  If it was April 1st then I would say someone was playing around.  But it isn't so I have no idea.
Life is short, Break the rules, Forgive quickly, Kiss slowly, Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably, And never regret anything that made you smile.
