Thank you agmag.
I obviously didn't see those posts, my bad  ???

I always install / and /home in separate folders so I understand that installing with another .iso as LXDE would solve my problem ¿?
Thank you.

Currently there is a new Xfce iso being prepared but it is still in testing:

If you feel brave enough, you could give it try.

The most appropriate solution right now would be to use a MiniMe iso (either KDE or LXDE) and install Xfce 4.10 desktop on top of it with task-xfce.

Remember that this iso is only for testing and is not officially supported. You proceed at your own risk.

But I have great faith in ghostbunny, daniel and everyone else involved with xfce and I'm sure that there will be only minor issues :)

I'm preparing to test this new .iso too (under VirtualBox at first).

My laptop is alive again but now running lxde.Thank god I keep /home separate from / and this makes it so easy.

For the moment I will remain like this till the stable release of xfce is out and then give it a try ;)

Thanks to everybody for your help.

if we get xfprint in the stable section you are able to install task-xfce which gives you the xfce4 desktop back.

so there won't be a need to wait for the new iso.
