kernel and Vaio

During updates overtime I lost the abillity to use the Fn-F5 and Fn-F6 for brigtnes control and my WiFi connection.
Not a big deal cause I could find the settings in Mixer and configurations with my eyes closed, the network cable is mostly only 2 inches away.
Using the
kernel-3.2.18-pclos2.pae.bfs
I still had the
kernel-2.6.38.8-pclos3.pae.bfs
as backup in the Grub startup menu.
Needing the wireless on a club meeting I fired up the 2.6 version for checking,
Lo and behold, Fn and wireless where instantly working again.
I think I leave it on the older kernel for a while

I installed the new 2013.04 64bit on this box,
Same Fn problem.
Solution:
Before installing WiFi or anything else install kernel-2.6.38.8-pclos3 and reboot.
Now the FN keys are working and WiFi can be setup and used.
When WiFi is setup with the 3 kernel before the install of the 2 kernel it won't work later with the 2 kernel.
To avoid the wrong startup remove the 3 kernel with Synaptic.

If someone has a suggestion to get the Fn keys working properly with the default kernel, please let me know.
