colorize a black and white image with gimp
« on: November 15, 2012, 08:34:36 PM »
i found a compilation of very old images in black and white and the corresponding edited images with colors

i have a couple images that could be interesting converting to color

i found information to use gimp for this but involves create layers, make colors transparent and also select and colorize sections of the image

all that means many hours and lots of work

my question is if there is a simpler way to do it, maybe a script or a filter or something similar?

I don't know of a way to do it "convincingly" but I could do it in less than an hour or two.

Gimp takes practice, it can do many things. I am sure "Georgetoon" could do it in a heartbeat.  ??? ;D

of course george can do it alot faster, he is a professional artist but since i hardly can work with layers or select areas, colorize a image, specifically a picture of a person is just too much
