Ok, was just making sure..I do get rebuffed on occasion for being to direct and sharp...trying to correct those attributes too..

You may have tried this all ready, but I'll ask anyway. I assume (

) you are running the KDE desktop...if so, on the sound icon on the task-bar
right click, then choose "Audio Setup" should open a window listing the default audio playback preference.
There should be a item (s) listed. then pick one, and click the test button..(may have to click it to stop the test) The try another one if listed.
There is a button (lower left) labeled "Show Advanced Devices" click it. see if anything else is added to the window. Try the same test as above,,
Also, leave this window open the right click the sound icon again and select the , "Select Master Channel" button. Usually 'master" is selected.
