Full Monty - How to set up the six screens as shown.
« on: November 15, 2012, 01:25:44 PM »
Have downloaded and updated the latest version of the Full Monty.  Everything works well except I cannot find out how to have the six screens activated.  i.e, how they appear in the promo for the os.
Have searched for an answer without any luck.   Suggestions please?

Is there an icon in the tray showing six boxes? .....  clicking on each should bring you to each desktop.

Note ... I haven't used the latest FM, but that is the normal method of changing desktops in KDE.

Thanks. Yes there is a group of six but they do not show those apps shown in the install information. i.e. The Internet would show, browsers, email etc.  At least that is how I think it is supposed to work.

Are the six desktops different types?

One should show Internet and expand to show the various internet apps available .....  similar for other desktops

The mouse over each desktop displayed in the tray should give you
1= internet
2= office
3= games
4= multimedia
5= graphics
6= system

No.  That is what I am trying to achieve.  I have updated to the latest FM os.  I only have six blanks.

Prior to install were you able to access the six individual desktops?

I had the same problem long ago.

It started after I changed something like wallpaper or different thing for the look of desktops. Sorry but can't remember exactly.
As far as I can remember when I went back on that change the six desktops showed their own content.

Try logging off/on or restarting.

Not at FM now but there is an application fm-switch for changing the specific FM outlook to the classic KDE and vice versa. May be try with it too.

or, as outlined in the FM-thread, fm_setwidgets to amend the screen-size or restore the FM-desktop layout.

I installed FM early this morning on a 31Gb (spare ) partition.
Did a full update and installed 10 extra programs.
I have no problem with install.
Are you sure your ..iso / md5 are OK ?
