I fixed the panel today and it should not resetup the panel if it is already set up.

the menu is the default xfce menu i created a more pclos like for the new iso.

download here http://dl.dropbox.com/u/53507975/custom-xfce4.menu

store this somewhere and do a right click on the application menu button to get into the setting for this launcher.
there is the choice to use a custom menu, just tick it and navigate to the downloaded file with the file chooser. press ok to all.

now you should have an extended pclos menu system.
The full life is a big mess

Thank you to the devs for your hard work on this.   ;D

RobNJ, do you have the "XFCE4" repo enabled in Synaptic?

xfce4 is a section of a repo, not a repo :)

Fire up Synaptic, go to Repositories and edit the PASS details to add "xfce4" under "Section(s)"
You should have the following: main updates nonfree kde games xfce4
For the whole world, you are someone.

I used task meta pkg to install xfce alongwith kde. Kdm somehow couldn't detect xfce, but was able to install slim and be able to choose xfce/kde on startup.

Facing few issues though -

1. Even though i've some themes installed (murrine, nodoka) and i try to choose them, it uses default kde oxygen settings. Tried few options but none worked.

2. After i installed gnome-mount if i try to mount other partitions it requires two clicks to open the partition. On the first click it just mounts but doesn't open and shows a busy cursor. Have to click one more time to open.

3. While booting up, I'm getting "Cannot open file delete" error, it kind of hangs up in that message and takes a while before it starts booting again. Checked fstab and grub entry and ive the right partition reference there.

On a side note xfce works like a charm, just uses 68 mb ram on boot up, lowest i've seen in any distro so far, amazing!!

Are we going to have a 64 bit iso for xfce in near future? Thinking if i should remove kde and just have xfce.

Appreciate if anyone can advise on the above issues.

Thanks.

Did you update to kde 4.9.2 ?? ( have a xfce session entry with KDM 4.9.2) or use GDM as alternative.

A known issue with some plymouth themes (harmless).

Remove  gtk-oxygene-molecule-xfce4  (it removes task-xfce4 also (also harmless) and then test other gtk themes)).

64 bit is in testing, sure when it's ready a Xfce iso gonna be released!

Yes, i did, but somehow it didn't pick up xfce. I then installed slim and changed from Control Center. I should've used GDM, didn't realize it was installed.

Would you happen to know which theme that would be? It takes quite a bit of time before it starts booting again so if i can remove any such theme i would rather do that.

Awesome, it worked, though had to remove gtk-oxygen-molecule as well. Now  i can use other themes.
