Google Earth not Launching
« on: November 13, 2012, 09:37:29 AM »
I noticed that Google Earth was not in my menu.  As I recall, it was recently updated.

I issued a command to start from Terminal and the proram would not launch.  It crashed.  I got the follwing:

Quote
~]$ google-earth
Google Earth has caught signal 11.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but Google Earth has crashed.
This is a bug in the program, and should never happen under normal
circumstances. A bug report and debugging data have been written
 to this text file:

    /home/mark/.googleearth/crashlogs/crashlog-50a27663.txt

Please include this file if you submit a bug report to Google.

I did a reinstall.  It is now listed in the menu, but still will not lanch.  Launching from terminal gives me the same error.
Toonfully,

Mark

What are the contents of the crash log?
There are some recent threads regarding problems with Google Earth...

i made a post about google earth 7

http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,110689.0.html

another user reported that error and signal 6 if i remember correctly

in my machine it is working but it doesn't show images, just lines of streets and other minor details

some users are removing it and installing old version from bin or rpm files found in my post

other users are not experiencing any problem
