Sony Vaio VGN-NR220E
« on: November 13, 2012, 07:20:25 AM »
I put PCLOS on my old sony viao and the display is only 1024X640. Does any one know where I can get driver for this display. The hardware detection say that is Intel Mobile GM965/GL960.
the module is intel 910. Everything works great. Even wireless. No need to use ndiswrapper.
Thanks.

what should be the resolution of that display?

if you use kde then first set it on configure your computer/hardware/configure video card/resolution

what options are given there?

if the option you want is there, select it and then go to configure your desktop/hardware/display and monitor/size and orientation and select it from that list

the driver for that video card should be already loaded since intel provides them and are already present in every kernel pclinux uses afik

It said the using Intel 810 or latter
Flat panel 1024X768
Resolution 1024X768 24bpp
It will not let me change the resolution. Under winxp the display is 1200X800
Thanks

Change flat panel to custom and select 1280X800. Set the resolution to 1280X800.
Log-out and then log-in again. It should be fixed.

That works.Thanks. After reboot it went into single user mode and had to type "startx" to start the display. Then log off and type "exit". That bring me back to my desktop.

Strange. Did the same happen on the next reboot?
