« on: November 13, 2012, 03:02:13 AM »

Hi  to all,
I have not run windows for many months and now I cannot remember the password.
Is there software in PClos that can change windows password?
Many thanks for your replies, in advance.

the first tool looks promising!

will download this tool for future attempts, thank you phil!

i used a very similar one last week to change a vista password with a weirder error and in fact i couldn't fix it this way because it was a damaged user(wrong name in two places, system error), i had to modify admin user and password to log in and do everything form there

do you remember the administrator password? if you can't remove that password in the SAM file because it is a 64 bit version, then load the administrator account and edit from there what you can

Hi Phil,
I cannot download either of the sites you gave they want me to buy the software.
I then go round in circles trying to get something to load but nothing will even though they say free download.
Do you know if Zorin will do the trick?

Hi Gezza,

Those sites were for info.

I cannot see chntpw in synaptic, System Rescue is a live linux cd so try that with link 1 as a guide:

Do a search on makeuseof and the thegeekstuff sites. There might be an article there.
