Thus far, Ryanair’s fee-crazed business model has proved to be wildly profitable, and the truth of the matter is that the airline would be failing if consumers didn’t like what it was selling.
It seems - regardless what the press say - that customers like what he is doing.
A few short years ago it was one of the smallest airlines in Europe ...... now it is the biggest concentrating on short-haul flights.
He apparently approaches such short-haul flights like bus or underground trips ...... bare minimum in comfort .... hence his standing room idea ... and if you want anything extra you pay for it.
A one hour to 90 minute trip which some 10 years ago cost me hundreds of pounds sterling with other airlines, can now be had from Ryanair for £10.
People use the service ...... in full knowledge of the limitations ...... and obviously in sufficient numbers to make it one of the most profitable airlines in Europe.
I spoke to a business traveller recently, who commutes regularly between Ireland and England ........ his attitude was -- cheap flight great!
He travels to and from meetings in one day ....... has no need for holiday-style baggage ..... so the service suits him well.
O'Leary is ... to say the least ... colourful

BTW ..... those ideas about paying for toilet facilities and standing room tickets were not recent ideas put forward by O'Leary ....... must be a slow news day that they get trotted out again ...... one would have thought there would be more recent news to publish ......
