"Turn off your computer and do something useful"
« on: November 11, 2012, 01:53:27 PM »
I did.

Swept the linoleum floors, vacuumed the carpeted rooms.

Then went outside.  We got 20 centimeters of snow in the day & 1/2.  So I took my 32" snow-blower and cleaned both my driveways (corner lot), my own and city sidewalk.  By nieghbour's sidewalk and part of the street.

Went to the grocery store bought some groceries, and came home.  My joints and muscles are sore... just relaxing for the rest of the day.

Why stop there?
I cleaned all the snow from my driveway with a feather - all the way down to the Pacific Ocean.

THEN and THAN usage..
Use than to make a comparison. Use then when referring to time.

I went to church, had a nap and am now going out to visit a friend.  I still made time to watch some Jeff Dunham on YouTube.  I guess I should heed my signature more often.

Lone Stranger, you seem like a good person.

My divorce, life, crap... has had a bit of say as to what I am today.

The/this last 2 Sundays I felt the need to go to a church.  But when you're/I'm in a rut... it's easy to stay there.

I used to be more than what I'm am now... (dang it...)

I shut off my computer and went to a fellow artists house to give her a hand with the art and craft show she was having in her barn. I offered to help guide the cars to parking spots. Yesterday the parking was a nightmare so I thought I would help out a friend. It made her smile. That was worth shutting off the computer. :)

If you look at it in a different way, after all you have gone through.
Perhaps you are more now than what you used to be.

Joe, you're a wise man.

I used to be so zealous.  But NOW it is both sides in the situation.

To be zealous is one thing.  To be be zealous for something that is good for all of mankind... well, that is truly good.

Just remember if what you say upsets zealots on both sides of the argument, then you probably discovered the right solution.

It seems members turn off their computers to get time to expound on philosophies, besides other good things.  ;D

I turn mine off every Friday evening all through Saturday and sometimes (rarely) through Sundays. To rest.  8)
