i toy with the idea of creating a section for his posts alone.  here's how we could do it.
first create section.  then pm mods with link to thread and one of us will move it to that section.  will this work?

youcantoo, perhaps you could copy that section to your server and keep it updated as it grows?  it will be finite, so it may not take too long nor too much space.

Posts out of context will provide a problem for the reader ....  or did you mean copying all help threads he responded to?

I note Jaydot used 'move' in relation to the posts ........  that would be totally unacceptable IMO.

Currently there are 377 pages in "last posts" not all are of technical nature, I agree with Just17 what is needed is copy the original question and the post, later assign topics and group the answers.

A little format that includes date, topic, person who asked (? maybe not needed), problem and answer could help those that volunteers.

If the format is approved, changed or whatever I can take pages 320 to 377

Thank you for considering creating an archive of O-P posts. As I have absolutely no expertise in how to make this happen I defer to others.

I fully acknowledge that many O-P posts are available just by doing a forum search; something that would seem obvious.
However, perhaps a few of his posts/threads can be included in the PCLinuxOS magazine.

I share the concern of several members at the absence of Old Polack from the forum. We all await his return, and we appreciate his outstanding contributions to our understanding of this wonderful operating system.

Old Polack, wherever you are, we are thinking about you.

just17, moving a thread to a different section moves all the posts in that thread.

i propose we collect up the lot.  it's all text, so it can't take up much space.

tell you what i will explore - copying the threads to a new section.  if that's possible the threads will live in two places, where they started and in o-p's section.  howzat?

edit: i've created the board under Archive.  

2nd edit:  i don't think a copy will be possible.  that's a limitation i don't know how to overcome.

Man, him and I were/are both kind-of carpenters.  He flipped the odd house, I do the interior woodwork in new houses.

We shared pm's and even our own gps locations.  But I lost his... (dang it).

OP must be away on business or something. We have chat setup in gmail and chat many times.
I checked before  I posted here and his computers must be on because I get the notice available
from his listing. I sent him an email a couple of weeks ago when this tread was running and got no answer yet. So it is not power failure, but most likely some sort of business. As Arnold said

On further consideration I think this idea of a separate section for O-Ps posts is a bad one.

IMO, it should not be done.

Is O-P in business? I always had the impression he is elderly and retired. He certainly spends enough hours on the forum to suggest that. If he were away on any planned trip, surely he'd have given some indication, either in his last posts or to Neal, that he wouldn't be around for a while.

Yes OP is retired, but is a man of many talents. He is a few years younger than I. When I started
1st using PCLinuxOS way back, OP and I would have many emails and chats in gmail.

I found out when we were growing up there were a few things we had of the same interest. So
chances are he is of enjoying one of those or maybe some new one that has his mind working to
figure out. Just keep him in your thoughts and if you think he needs a prayer, give him one or two. " He'll be back "

On the topic of an 'O-P library', maybe the PCLinuxOS Wiki would be a good place for all of his advice if someone has the time and inclination to start moving his posts over there?
