is it safe to use pclinuxos xfce

I'm a little confused, can i use pclinuxos xfce without any problem , someone told me to use pclinuxos kde or lxde, i send to him a message to say why ? but did not answer me

XFCE is more than fine.  I use it on my secondary desktop and in a virtual machine on my primary when it's booted into Windows.

i did not say anything about you guys and your hard work i really appreciate it, and i love pclinuxos i use it about A year and a half
and wrote many topics in my language about it and make videos in my Chanel

IF I remember correctly, there WILL be an xfce desktop (they are working on one , as we speak), but it won't be named Phoenix. When it get's here, it will be worth the wait!

xfce and phoenix live cd are two different things

while sproggy is not working on that iso now, this doesn't mean that pclinux can't have xfce

not having a person in charge is not the same as have a insecure desktop environment

I believe you were told that to avoid a very large number of updates, plus to avoid needing to reconfigure your sources list, you should start with the newer MiniMe or LXDE Mini ISO and add XFCE via its task package.     

Who did you send a message to? How did you send it? Forum PM?     

The point was (and is) not that there is anything wrong with the XFCE ISO, but that it is older now and will require a massive download of updated packages. Also, we have made changes to our repository since it was released, and it will be necessary to make a change to the /etc/apt/sources.list file. Using a newer ISO was suggested as a way to circumvent these.
