4.8.3 Upgrade to 4.9.2 Firefox?

Hi All,

Whilst upgrading from 4.8.3 to 4.9.2 everything has gone to plan? Well at first glance it does ! ! !

After rebooting , I find that Firefox browser which was v 16.0.1 and should be ver 16.0.2 has now been uninstalled.

Yes, you read that correctly. Completely removed.

After several attempts at updating Fireox thru' Synaptic I tried to download SeaMonkey from the repositories,
that borked also. So now I have no browser. ( I posted this from a friends M$Winow machine)

What to do?

You help would be very much appreciated.......

I think you still have a decent browser called Konqueror on your system. Please check.

Synaptic has a item called History in its File menu. Please check that and see when was Firefox removed.

If you don't have Firefox now you should use Synaptic to install it, not update it.  What happens when you try to do that?  As a browser, Konqueror makes a good file manager.  Chromium has become a reasonable option if you can't use Firefox.

Could also check that only one Repo is selected.

The Midori and Rekonq browsers are also worth a look.
