I am experiencing this trying to get netflix to run on my pclinuxos box using some branch of wine build to support silverlight.

first wine takes hours to build but it needs bleeding edge experimental libOSmesa library, meaning building mesa from git,one of dependencies want bleading edge llvm that inturn wants bleeding edge clang build with experinmental features turned on. All in all, close to hours and hours and hours and hours of waiting, waiting, waiting and more waiting.

building massive projects from that that in turn have dependencies on massive projects that in turn have dependencies on massive projects feels like being that guy,i feel like that guy right now.

That's how I reckon packagers would feel if they were packaging chromium-browser or qt4.

I do not think people( me included ) appreciate how time consuming and annoying packaging is,especially when building interdependent packages.

+1 But I hope I have a scintilla of understanding. Guys like Archie should be held aloft as an example to us all...

Acrophobia!  ;D

Must have feet firmly on the ground. Thank you for the thought though ... I'm sure I'm speaking for many of our packagers when I say that the stuff we do is for mutual benefit -- we serve the community and we advance ourselves. An occasional thank you should suffice (not required :)) ... and the well-structured report on issues and problems definitely makes any of our community member an integral part of the improvement and development of PCLinuxOS.

Frankly, I'm still on the crossroads of reactions to attitudes (as evident on my most recent posts). There are excellent examples to understand and learn from the GIMP devs ... which reminds me of the op's photo again. ;D

Peace and much respect.
