Google Chromium. Evernote Web Clipper extension fails.
« on: November 04, 2012, 03:10:16 PM »
I just started using Evernote again (after a long absence). I installed the Evernote Web Clipper extension in Chromium. Based on the web searching I did, this extension apparently does not work in Chromium. I have version 19.0.1084.47-1pclos2012 installed.

I did find how to install Chrome in PCLOS. I installed the latest Chrome build. I did not even have to install any other dependencies. The Evernote Web Clipper works perfectly.

(As an added bonus, I can also open pdf files in Chrome, without fiddling around with finding the correct libpdf.so file to install).

Can anyone offer any reasons I should not continue to use Chrome? I absolutely need to use Evernote Web Clipper for my job.

Any ideas if Chromium will be updated soon, such that Evernote Web Clipper will work in it?

Thanks.

How did you install the current version? Where did you download it from?

Thanks,
John

I just Googled for 'download Google Chrome'.

It took me to https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/

I clicked the large blue button labelled 'Download Chrome'. Several options are listed. I selected '32-bit rpm'. I then installed the downloaded rpm file at the command line.

I have installed Google Chrome on all my Linux machines. It works perfectly, and syncs with all my Windows and Android devices.

I teach computer technology classes, so I have to get to use a lot of different hardware and OS's, which are provided to me for free  ;D

None that I am aware of ......  but if you ask for help on the forum you should mention that you have it installed in case of some not so evident conflict which might occur.
