I think I may have misunderstood how drop box works. I had a file on my computer I made changes to every day (spreadsheet). I keep it in drop box. I just did a full reinstall and discovered that the file in drop box is almost one month out of date. Is there a way to get Dropbox to automatically save the changed file each time I open and close it or at least once a day?
Just curios since the file has been in Dropbox for a long time why did I loose only a months data. I can't remember doing anything that would have caused Dropbox to save an updated file a month ago.
I have a half dozen files in Dropbox, one of which (my .ics calendar file) gets altered almost daily (at least dismissing alarms) and it is
always up to date on all my other devices (Linux, Windows and Android). As long as Dropbox is set to autostart at boot up, it should synch anytime something changes, and immediately after boot if that device has been off.
You just need to make sure Dropbox is installed and set to autostart on
all your devices.
