So ... that's how they want to play it now. Since the U.S. gov't's case against Kim Dotcom and Megaupload is mostly falling apart, it looks like they are going after the users of the service now. Shameful. Here's an idea ... let's stop pandering to the special interests (and whims) of the entertainment industry and create copyright and patent laws THAT ACTUALLY MAKE SENSE and that everyone can live with! The current laws of awarding copyrights for the lifespan of the author +70 years, and patents for what seems to be an indefinite/infinite time period are just too much. Let's create copyrights that expire in 15 years (and I think that's more than generous) and patents that follow the patent system used in the pharmaceutical field ... 7 years.
