weird but thru issuing that command reboots my pc rather than shuts off..
i have kernel-188.8.131.52-pclos3.pae.bfs kernel installed
You could try reinstalling the initscripts
How runlevels are changed is specified in the directories under /etc/rc.d
. So what does
ls -l /etc/rc.d/rc0.d
The module handling the actual halting or rebooting is the last one, S01halt
, which is a link to /etc/rc.d/init.d/halt
. It might have become corrupt. To know, we'd have to see what it looks like.
