Therefore, it neither is the pedestrians fault nor the drivers, but actually the traffic administration's.....

Just as it is the driver's responsibility to watch the road, so too is it the pedestrian's responsibility to watch traffic when crossing the road.

That lady did not look to oncoming traffic, but looked to the other side ......  essentially walking blindly into the road.

So I continue to believe the pedestrian was not correct, regardless of other factors.

I have profound hearing loss,so i cannot hear cars arriving at crossovers but i always watch what is going on,without hearing you
get another level of awareness,we will see cause i am just about to get hearing aids for both ears :)

I have been deaf for ages and one thing scared me,not being able to hear traffic, you get used to using your eyes a lot more
i am now getting two digital hearing aids and maybe my world will change,i am nervous because living a long time without hearing and then having the ability to hear might be overwhelming at first.

looking at that vid i am glad i made the move to get these aids, for the safety of myself and for the drivers who do not know i cannot hear them
Now i just got to get used to them

She did not watch for other vehicles from the left but only checked the right, where the car with the camera had already stopped for her.

The ambulance driver did not realize the cars where stopping for a pedestrian, so in my opinion he would be the one to be blamed the most. The women of course made a bad mistake also.

EDIT: How about locking this thread up before it goes completely bonkers?

The camera is in a car that stopped for her? There is no indication that this is so.

I suggest the following ...

The white van that she stepped in front of and which stopped after she did so, was slowing to turn right ......  as did the car that preceded it. It stopped ONLY to avoid an accident.

Whatever was housing the camera was stopped .......  quite possibly to turn left into the same exit as those two.

All other traffic both oncoming to the camera, and the six vehicles that passed it (from behind) during the clip, showed no signs of slowing for any lights or pedestrian crossing.

Do have a look at the van that she stepped in front of ........  it is indicating to either pull in or turn right.
It continues on its way after she moves into the road.

By the behaviour of ALL the drivers in that clip, I see no indication that she had any right to cross the road at that point, at that time.

BTW, I would hope that the thread would not be locked, and I do not see any reason you should ask for it to be done!   ???

I don't see that we will find a solution to this question, so all the discusion seems rather pointless to me. But that's just me, then, YMMV.

But you're right, just let it flow...  :D :D :D :D

Well, the Vienna Convention standard sign for a pedestrian crossing gave her that right. (Which no doubt will be a great solace to her in the cemetery, as my father used to say when I brought up similar subjects. Or in other words, she could have been more careful regardless of her rights, particularly as the sign wasn't easy to spot.)

But she had the right to cross.

In over 60 countries this:

is used where other countries use

or yellow and black text signs.

Also note that

is not a warning sign, at least not primarily.
It's a "Special regulation sign". It simply gives the pedestrians right of way.

Graphically it may vary a bit from country to country,
but there is no other road sign that can be mistaken for it.

In many places it may be complemented by a more general warning sign:

Is there a similar sign at the other side of the road for traffic coming from the opposite direction?

I cannot see it ......  just as I cannot really see/discern the sign that has been pointed out to me.

Actually there is, but it's only visible for about two seconds or less and it's even fuzzier than the other one. I tried to get a snapshot of the area around it. It's difficult to discern, but at least this should give you an idea where to look for it at the very far right of the screen:

On which Pole is it bolted?
The pole directly opposite the sign on the other side of the road?

If so I don't see it ........ eyes again it seems  :(

It's impossible to say. Here's the whole window:
