Nut won't start

Hi to all! ;D
I buy an UPS since there is storm related winds around here.
The hardware is detect as unknown devices, lsusb see manufacturer name. Ups configuration install nut and nut-server.
In the services windows, upsd don't start because it try to read a non-existing /var/state/ups/upsd.pid file and stop UPS drivers because there is no UPS definitions founds in ups.conf.
Since there is newer nut version, i check docs on their web site but, nothing seem related to this problem in newer versions
I suppose that can be fixed by files moving or path editing but, i prefer to ask before doing silly thing.

Hi,
I also bought a UPS, and the configure for UPS did not see it.
But it did come with its own software, including for linux.
Does your ups have monitoring software of its own?
I am happy with this ViewPower application.

The one i have is a tripp-lite smart1500LCD; The linux drivers provided need lib*.* not in PCLOS repository. I install ViewPower, the software suggest by shimoni yesterday. The UPS is not detected for the moment so, i think i have to put a little more time on it.

This would seem to indicate that you will get it working in Linux .....  maybe with a bit of effort ...

It's on the front burner since yesterday. :D

This one need library files not on PCLOS repository and, since empirical computering is probably (C) by MS...
