looks like someone put the cart before the horse, just to have the newest kde!!!!!!!!!!

Not really. For most people 4.9.2 is much better than 4.8.3. For some people upgrading to 4.9.2 isn't a good idea because it means that they will lose one program that they need and depend on. But for the majority of users that isn't reason enough not to upgrade.

And the problem with digikam will be fixed sooner or later.

but in the mean time anyone else that needs digikam has to wait...

My PCLinux was working perfect with 4.8.3. but not now!

The best way to save face is keep the bottom half shut.

Does this mean that Gwenview plugins now work because for the life of me, I cannot use them owing to the libkipi problem alluded to earlier.

My guess is that the removal of Digikam has removed some functionality needed by Gwenview for its plugins (both programs use libkipi). Installing Digikam is not possible owing to unresolved dependencies thus

digikam:
 Depends: kipi-plugins
 Depends: libdigikamcore.so.2
 Depends: libdigikamdatabase.so.2
Depends: libkdcraw.so.20  but it is not installable
Depends: libkexiv2.so.10  but it is not installable
 Depends: libkface.so.1
 Depends: libkgeomap.so.1
 Depends: libkipiplugins.so.2
Depends: libkipi.so.8  but it is not installable
 Depends: libkvkontakte.so.1
Depends: libmarblewidget.so.13  but it is not installable

Does this mean we have to wait for Digikam to be sorted out before Gwenview plugins will work? I'm a bit confused as it doesn't seem solved to me.

Archie posted a new version of DigiKam and a few other packages for testing five days ago and again yesterday. He strongly advised users that aren't involved in testing not to try them out at this stage, as they may break something. But so far everything looks promising. So you should wait, but most probably it won't be a long wait.
