[SOLVED] Learning LXDE while running KDE

I've been running KDE for a while, but I thought I'd like to try out LXDE after reading about it
in the magazine.

From a terminal in KDE, I know how to use CONTROL-ALT-F1 to jump back to a non-graphical environment,
and CONTROL-ALT-F8 to jump back to my KDE environment.

Is there some way I can continue to run KDE but somehow start up LXDE and then be able to quickly
switch  back and forth between the KDE and LXDE environments?     I'd like to be able to look at my
KDE environment while learning how to tailor my LXDE environment.  

Additionally, I guess I should ask this first,  is there a reason I shouldn't do this?

The best way I know "from KDE", is to install "task-lxde" from the repo and then pick it as you start and stop the desktop.

I am not sure you can run two different desktop environments at the same time.  

Additionally, you could set up an LXDE Virtual Box. That way you can't screw anything up and you will still have KDE right there for reference. Both running at the same time.  

I'd like to add one more thing.

IMHO. LXDE is "easier" to figure out than KDE so if you have KDE figured out,, LXDE should be a "mud pie".

Install LXDE from the repository ....  try using   task-lxde

In the KDE session .....  Menu - Leave - Switch user

This gives me on top of screen a choice to create a New Session

Selecting this brings you to the log in screen .......  where you select LXDE from the session type provided from the icon on the bottom of the screen.

You can then log into a LXDE session, and switch between the LXDE and KDE by Ctrl,Alt+F7 (& F8)

Else you can do  Menu - Leave - Switch user  and select the user available.

Works well ......  but make sure you have sufficient resources to run two user sessions concurrently ....  or don't do anything heavy on resources while running the two.

           Forgot to mention .......  you can log in to both sessions as the same user. If you do so be sure you do not do something in one session you might regret in the other
