Hi all (superior linux gurus -- devs and such),

Hmm, there might be a problem with the latest Synaptic update to 4.9.2-1pclos...
After a completely correct update procedure, I then ran lomanager and got the please update your sytem message.  So I double checked that Synaptic didn't have any updates that I might have missed (and yes. I first reloaded the repository). There were no missed updates. So, I ran lomanager again with the same result.  Then I checked the forum for any reported issues. The only thing I noticed was a post by uggy in the advanced user section that stated he found some "left over" 4.8.3 stuff and wondered if there might be any potential issues because of it. I wouldn't have thought so, but perhaps this might actually be one.

Suggestions to correct the issue?

kjpetrie,

Yes, I have one pinned package:  flash-player-plugin11.1 which has been pinned for some time and never  interfered with lomanager updates before.  The more recent flash-player-plugin doesn't work properly with my video card (NVidia GeForce4 MX440 SE).  Replacing the video card isn't an option, unfortunately.

Maybe you could mark and install the 3 lib packages from:
http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,110281.msg941306.html#msg941306

Synaptic:
libkdcraw
libkexiv2
libkipi

After that my system was --full-- updated.

Thanks, DeBaas. Your suggestion plus the addition of upgrading kde-edu-marble, did the trick. Marking thread as SOLVED.
