Suspect I should wait a few days before updating. Sounds too dicey, and I don't want to spend a lot of time fixing anomalies!

Those were very small issues, and the system started and worked properly also without showing the KSplash splash screen.

Autologin can be re-enabled in PCC.

Just wanted to share what I noticed, no patches needed immediately.

Wait if you're using Digikam.
All that is is good. PCLinuxOS is.

Hi all,

I upgraded my parents' computer to KDE 4.9.2 today and got some anomalies after a subsequent reboot:

1) Autologin has been disabled.

This had not happened with the update from 4.6.5 to 4.8.3.

No issue, enabled it again in PCC. Just wanted to inform.

2) KSplash is gone.

Instead of a splash screen, there's only a black screen after the login screen until the desktop appears.

In system settings, "Horos" is enabled and no PCLOS version is shown in the options. But "Horos" doesn't show, so it seems the system is looking for something but can't find it.

During the upgrade no packages were marked as "will be removed" so I wonder what happened here.

...

Issue no.2 still valid in February, 2013 (maybe no.1 too).
After I updated all packages today, I found the same as aguila before.
Though I red the relevant topics referred from here, I found a simple way to get back the old default Ksplash theme.
In Synaptic I searched for 'ksplash' keyword, and marked 'ksplash-theme-Texstar' package to install.
Then I checked that the Default theme appears under System Settings > Workspace Appearance > Splash Screen.
Thats all.

For the splash screen, select another splash, click 'apply' then select horos and again click apply.  Test the result by logging out and back in again
