Hi
System did an update through update notifier from heanet last night. VLC was updated to 2.0.3 by removing a bunch of files and installing one.
Today I tried to play a video file that I have watched previously but VLC just opened the first frame then froze. Tried some other file types with same result. Tried reinstalling VLC to no avail. Tried other repositories like pclosusers and ibiblio to no avail.
Ran the following:
[rick@localhost News]$ vlc 8-1.mpg
VLC media player 2.0.3 Twoflower (revision 2.0.2-93-g77aa89e)
[0x8974ae0] main libvlc: Running vlc with the default interface. Use 'cvlc' to use vlc without interface.
[0x8d868a8] xcb_xv vout display error: no available XVideo adaptor
[0xb4e03b00] pulse audio output error: PulseAudio server connection failure: Connection refused
OpenGL Warning: Failed to connect to host. Make sure 3D acceleration is enabled for this VM.
I searched the forum and found a few mentions of something similar. That's why I tried the different repos but I'm getting nowhere.
The topics I found mentioned that this problem was fixed long ago. Does anyone know what is going on?
Thanks,
Rick.
Solution:
Changed video output to X11 video output (XCB). That gave me video and audio but no full screen. Other options didn't work, either no video or no audio.
