power managment settings Resolved
« on: October 23, 2012, 07:48:13 PM »
When i set the power options and the screen saver options, they work fine until i reboot. The settings do not stay and i have to redo them every time i reboot.

example: screen energy saving, i set it for 5 mins and it works fine until i reboot then they are gone.

What am i missing or why is this happening?

Using pclinuxos 2012 with kde desktop.

update: Since the massive updates from 2 days ago, my power management settings work fine and remain when re-booting!

The power management settings seem to cause a variety of problems.  I found a thread on the KDE forum which is inconclusive.

I have 2012.08 (KDE 4.8.3) and my energy savings settings persist but the 'dimming' setting seems not to work.

To begin with, you could check the setting in Configure desktop > System Administration > Service Manager : Startup Services to see whether Power Management is selected.

If you don't have the System Administration section, you could install the kde-admin package.
