How to disable desktop widget background transparency?
« on: October 23, 2012, 12:16:57 PM »
I have set up various system monitor widgets on my folder view desktop. But as the underlying desktop wallpaper is seen through it, the reading is not very apparent to me.

Is there a setting to be changed so that only the background of those widgets become solid?

PCLinuxOS 2012 KDE fully updated installation on AMD E450 based notebook with fglrx driver, desktop effects enabled.
Packaging well will cure headaches of many :) But learning to package will cause headaches in many :(

Most desktop themes are transparent so I can't disable it.
Found and tested a theme without transparent widgets.

you can edit the theme in use and change the background of that particular element to a darker version, it allows you to choose form other themes you have installed

in configure your desktop/workspace appearance and behavior/workspace appearance/desktop theme

in the button get new themes ge a darker one

then while on the one you like go to details/widget background and select the darker one you wanted

it applies for every widget on desktop, except for the analog clock

In PCLinuxOS repository also the kde-plasma-desktoptheme-oxygen which is almost non-transparent.  ;)
