[SOLVED] KMail2 "Retrieving Folder Contents" for ever
« on: October 23, 2012, 05:02:59 AM »
I have just encountered for the first time a problem in KMail2 which manifests itself as a 'pretty graphics' panel in the space normally occupied by the message text, informing me "Retrieving Folder Contents" and asking me to "Please wait . . ."

I'm still waiting, and can't access messages in any of the kmail folders.  Anybody know why?

How do you have KMail2 set up? To retrieve POP3 or IMAP? I occasionally get Retrieving Folder Contents on my POP3 inboxes but I would attribute the delay to network traffic and availability of my connection to the mail servers. More info might narrow down the problem.

Archie,

I use POP3 (three accounts), and confess to having put off thinning out the historic contents of folders!

A shutdown and cold boot put things right, although I had to search back in the historic content to solve the  mystery of two messages reported as 'unread'.  How they popped up in the 'July' list I don't know.
