lomanager not working (Resolved)
« on: October 20, 2012, 01:57:00 PM »
I know I am a novice with linux still and I hope i am not asking dumb questions so please be patient with me.
I am having issues with synaptic and lomanager and since I believe they may be related i will post both here...

This code comes up when I clicked reload for my synaptic...

Could not download all repository indexes

The repository might be no longer available or could not be contacted because of network problems. If available an older version of the failed index will be used. Otherwise the repository will be ignored. Check your network connection and the correct writing of the repository address in the preferences.

http://ftp.heanet.ie/pub/pclinuxos/apt/pclinuxos/2010/base/pkglist.kde4: 404 Not Found [IP: 193.1.193.64 80]

then when I click close this comes up...

The following problems were found on your system:

W: Release file did not contain checksum information for http://ftp.heanet.ie/pub/pclinuxos/apt/pclinuxos/2010/base/pkglist.kde4

This code comes up when I try to run lomanager...

Failed to update the package information.
(more details: /tmp/LO_STEP00.log).

I tried to run lomanager --no-updatetest from konsole and got this...

If you don't take the time to do it right, When will you have the time to do it over?

Looks like you haven't been keeping up-to-date  ;)

There is a lot to read there and it can be a little daunting.  Feel free to ask if you are not sure of something

I did actually do that and the results are in all that text. Sorry, I know it is a lot to look through.

Yes but you haven't done this http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,108162.0.html
That is why you are getting the message

pkglist.kde4 refers to the old KDE 4.6.5 section of the repo which no longer exists.  You have to change the "kde4" section to "kde" in Synaptic.  That will stop that error message (and the KDE 4.8 packages will become visible if you are running KDE).  Then you will then be able to update successfully and then lomanager will be happy.
