Thanks. Several questions.

How can I cut and paste output from an installation DVD to my hard drive in Windows ?

I don't understand what you mean by set a mount point for these partitions? They are obviously there.
Also it keeps coming up with this annoying message:
"Not enough space available! (10GB available while 10GB are available)"

Doesn't make sense.

You got me confused...

You have created a LiveDVD of Full Monty. So far, so good.
Why don't you boot into a Live Session by selecting "Try PCLinuxOS" from the initial menu?
You will then boot to a full operating system that runs from the DVD.
You can configure your internet connection and get online as you would do with a normal install.

From this live session select "install PCLinuxOS" (desktop icon)
(I have never installed Full Monty but I hope it has the same shortcut as the standard KDE version)

If you get an error during boot or during install, tell us exactly when the message appears and what it reads.
For the whole world, you are someone.
For someone, you are the whole world.

Problem solved, thanks to everyone's help.

I am embarrassed to tell y'all the truth. If I had read the preliminary installation instructions instead of forging ahead I could have saved everyone a lot of trouble.

They said:

(1) Use Custom  partitioning
(2) The root partition (sda5) has to be greater than 15 GB (I used 20 to be on the safe side)
(automatic partitioning only allows 12GB for the root partition and I have to admin the error message wasn't very helpful, but what the heck, I learned a lot which is one of the reasons I wanted to install Linux in the first place!)

When I did that all fell into place.

I hope I become proficient enough to be of help to everyone in these forums. They must be a labor of love....

Thank you everyone, again!

I'm sure you will kentgbailey

When I started using PCLinuxOS I too was fairly "green" in Linux use but reading this forum has "upped" my knowledge not only for PCLinuxOS but Linux in general.  I doubt there is a forum more useful/helpful than this one.

You've got some interesting times ahead  ;D
