« on: October 17, 2012, 07:19:20 AM »
Hi all....
i just made the upgrade for KDE to the 4.8.3 version ... and it went smoothly...
but since then i lost so many of the KDE widgets like daizy for example...
even i reinstalled it and i find it in the "add widget" list... but when i add it i get a big "X" sign instead of the widget and i cant launch it!!!
why is that??

Have you tried Piedock? It's what I've been using for about half-a-year or more now. It is a launcher/taskbar and acts a bit like the OSX dock but its shape is circular. Setting it up is fairly easy, and I could help if needed.

It should have started automatically after installation. The trigger-combo is WinKey and Left-Click. IIf it doesn't start that way, try the following:

As root, # pkill piedock
Then exit root.
As normal user, $ /usr/share/piedock/piedock-instant/pd start
Wait a while for it to load then try the trigger-combo again.
Note that you are running a sample settings.

You should also do the following:
$ cp /usr/share/piedock/piedock-instant/conf/piedockrc ~/.piedockrc
$ mkdir -p ~/.piedock/icons

But let's not get ahead of ourselves, and first try if you can trigger it.
