Have you tried Piedock? It's what I've been using for about half-a-year or more now. It is a launcher/taskbar and acts a bit like the OSX dock but its shape is circular. Setting it up is fairly easy, and I could help if needed.
i installed it from synaptic... but dont find it in the apps menu in the kicker!!! searched under monitoring and other applications but dont find it!!
i even tried the command from the shell but got the "NO SUCH COMMAND" answer...
how to start it?
It should have started automatically after installation. The trigger-combo is WinKey and Left-Click. IIf it doesn't start that way, try the following:
As root, # pkill piedock
Then exit root.
As normal user, $
/usr/share/piedock/piedock-instant/pd startWait a while for it to load then try the trigger-combo again.
Note that you are running a sample settings.
You should also do the following:
$
cp /usr/share/piedock/piedock-instant/conf/piedockrc ~/.piedockrc$ mkdir -p ~/.piedock/icons
But let's not get ahead of ourselves, and first try if you can trigger it.
